Class Description
Shōtōkan (松濤館 Shōtōkan) is a style of karate, developed from various martial arts. Shotokan training is usually divided into three parts: Kihon (basics), Kata (forms), and Kumite (sparring).

Whether you are just starting in the art or have levels of experience, there is much to be learned from a Shotokan course. Mat teaches in a class format to make everyone of all ages feel comfortable and make it a respectful but friendly environment where everyone can learn and share with each other as they learn. If you are looking for a challenge for you or your child, this is a great class to learn discipline, respect, blocks, kicks, punches and all the Shotokan art has to offer.
Class Benefits
This class focuses on discipline and respect. It can help build balance, coordination, awareness, self confidence, and self-defense with punches, kicks, and blocks. A Typical Class

The class starts with everyone bowing in to show respect. Mat will then ask everyone to move in rows and make sure everyone has enough room the tools they need to complete the training in the class. He will teach new techniques as well as review already learned techniques. As the class practices the techniques, he will walk around monitoring everyone, giving friendly and helpful advise whenever needed. It’s not about showing that you’re wrong, it’s about getting better together. A typical class will last 1 hour.
